August 3, 2020
As you probably know, we are continuing online worship only during the month of August. The Church Staff and Leadership Team are keeping a close eye on things and will make a decision to reopen the church to in person gatherings as soon as possible. Trust me when I tell you than no one is more ready to gather together in person than I am. I miss y’all. I miss seeing y’all. I miss your smiles and your hugs. A big part of being the church is gathering together to worship and glorify the Lord. I miss getting to do that with you.
Recently, we learned of a few families who have found a way to meet safely for worship by hosting in home worship gatherings. These families already spent time together during the week and were comfortable being around each other so it just made sense to spend time together on Sunday in worship. They have come to really enjoy having an in home worship gathering with a couple of other families while they all watch our church’s online service.
If you’ve been missing meeting with other believers for worship and are comfortable having people in your home, then hosting an in home worship gathering could be something for you and your family to try. Pray about it. Talk about it with your spouse and family. If you feel like God is leading you to do this, talk it over with a couple of other families and give it a try.
I realize this isn’t for everyone as some people might not be comfortable doing this while others may have health concerns. It is also not intended to be a long term alternative to gathering the church as a whole. It’s just one way we’re trying to help people gather together and worship as the body of Christ.
If you have questions about getting an in home worship gathering started please contact me or any of your church staff and we’ll be glad to help however we can.
